Sarah & Stephen - Whistle Bear Wedding
When you imagine your January wedding in Ontario you never picture a rain storm, but that’s what mother nature gave Sarah & Stephen. Being the total champs that they are, they embraced it. When I walked into Cambridge Hotel in the morning where Sarah and the ladies were getting ready it was such a peaceful and relaxed setting. No one was rushing around or stressed at all, Sarah was so calm and excited and that was definitely contagious. I knew then that no matter what the weather held it was going to be a wonderful day.
For Sarah & Stephen, their faith is super important to them. They decided to not see each other before the ceremony but to have a prayer holding hands at their venue right before the ceremony. The anticipation was electric. They held hands, prayed with each other, laughed and cried, all without seeing each other. It was such a beautiful moment and I’m so honoured they allowed me to capture it for them.
Their Whistle Bear ceremony was simply stunning! With a close friend and pastor performing the ceremony it was super personable, unique, and meaningful. They expressed how they both waited so long for this day and to meet each other and how they were grateful to God for bringing them together. Holding hands the entire time you could feel their love for each other. It was so lovely!
Afterwards we headed out to Open Space , a studio in Cambridge, since we couldn’t do too much outside as it was absolutely pouring rain the entire day. It was such a lovely time with just Sarah & Stephen, soaking in the fact that they were in fact married and the few moments that they had just the two of them. The studio was also stunning and made for a gorgeous portrait space.
Their delicious dinner and heartfelt reception was full of time for them to mingle with their guests, along with meaningful speeches from family and friends. It was really beautiful in every way. They shared a dance surrounded by family and friends and ran outside for a few moments with some sparklers (despite the rain) and just shared an absolutely beautiful evening with the people they love the most. Sarah & Stephen, thank you for choosing me to capture your special day!
