Intimate Spring Ontario Airbnb Wedding: K + S
Kaycie and Steven planned a beautiful early summer wedding hosted at a gorgeous Airbnb in Meaford, Ontario. The property was absolutely massive, it had a pond, a farm with some animals, and so much green space. It truly felt like a magical location, and it provided tons of opportunities for stunning scenery.
Kaycie and Steven had initially planned a destination wedding in Banff; Steven is from Ontario and Kaycie is from BC, so Banff seemed like the perfect middle ground. Unfortunately, that plan was postponed because of COVID. Though they initially were happy to wait, a close family member was soon diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Upon hearing this news, they uprooted their destination wedding plans and within five short weeks had completely changed plans so that all of their family members could attend. While they had a small wedding of 25 guests, they made sure that the people closest to them were there, which was really beautiful to see.
Kaycie and Steven, all of their vendors, and everyone else involved made sure the wedding was not only absolutely stunning but also ran smoothly. It really shows that you can have the perfect wedding without spending too much time on it!
One of the most unique and touching parts of this wedding were all of the letters involved. Kaycie and Steven wrote letters to each other, and Kaycie wrote letters to her family members as well, which was just so special.
Their ceremony was STUNNING, and took place right by the water. It was adorable watching their dog walk down the aisle, and added some hilarious moments to the day. At one point he got so excited by the water, he started running full speed towards it and had to be brought back by the officiant! It was quite eventful - and something to note if you end up bringing your dog to the ceremony, he may want to make a splash in the water!
The reception was outdoors, under the stars, and was catered by one of their friends who is a personal chef. It was a beautiful, large five-course meal. The chef took the time to explain each course to the guests, which really helped add a personal touch to the meal.
It was so clear how relaxed the couple was during the entire day. Their perspective of what really mattered seemed to completely take the stress out of the day and helped them be totally present in the moment. It was wonderful watching them get to fully enjoy being present with each other and their families.
The night wrapped up with emotional speeches and fireworks - a surprise from Kaycie to Steven! Overall it was an incredible event, and I feel so honoured that I was able to capture this beautiful day.
